Feeling Purposeless in Your Career?
There might come a point in your career, or even life when you are feeling purposeless. The nagging question “why am I doing this?” it’s a common thing that happens to people, but not many people know how to deal with this kind of struggle. As people who have worked with ton’s of different people and businesses, we might have the answer for you. If 2020 taught as anything, working from home can pose some challenges. Working in a new environment can cause these feelings of purposelessness.
Get Over Purposelessness
Forget The Rat Race
By rat race we mean, forget trying to turn a goal into a feeling of purpose. If you are working for a corporation or company, but the only thing that keeps you going is the goal to have more, stop. This is a terrible way to fake a sense of purpose into your life, and it will catch up with you. You also, may not even survive the race, in any race to the top, people get trampled, and you do not want to be one of those people. If you end up trampled you may end up in a worse place than when you started.
Quit, A Lot
As mentioned in our previous blog, quitting is OK. If you aren’t happy in what you are doing, or in this case, if what you are doing gives you no purpose, quit. Quit as many times as you like, as often as you like. Keep quitting and trying again until you find something that brings purpose into your life.
Do what You Are Good At
Don’t do something that you love, but rather what you are good at. There is no need to try and chase this dream of doing what you love. Chances are that if you are good at something, you enjoy it. If you get into this habit, you just might find purpose again in your career.
