Miracle Beach Provincial Park
Another provincial park to check out. This site offers camping and day-use options. It’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it for a day out. The main camping season runs from March to October, but you can visit the park all year. For more information, click here.
Courtenay & District Museum & Paleontology Centre
Looking for something indoors? The District Museum is a great place to spend the day learning about Dinosaurs. It’s something the kids and grandkids will love, for sure. Open from Tuesday to Saturday 10 am-5 pm, make sure to get there early to avoid any lines. The museum is by donation, so you can keep costs low. For more information, visit the website.
Air Park
A quaint quiet place with great views of wildlife. You can watch the small planes take off and land, pack a lunch and find a bench! A great place for those aviation fanatics. The website is full of information as well.
I-Hos Gallery
I-Hos Gallery presents a collection of traditional and contemporary northwest coast artwork and crafts. Masks, prints, gold and silver jewelry and wood carvings, textiles, and clothing produced by First Nations artists. This is a great way to spend a few hours looking at the wonderful art.
